Where to drink in Iso-Syöte: a pub and hotel bar on Romekievarintie, an after-ski bistro by the back lifts, a summit restaurant. Addresses and menus.
There is no bar street here: every venue is attached to a hotel, a slope or a grocery shop, and two of the five sit on a fell top.
Iso-Syöte's drinking is attached to its hotels, its slopes and one grocery shop, and the postal addresses read Syöte or Pudasjärvi. Two of the five sit on Romekievarintie at the foot of the front slopes: TunturiPUB at number 1, which shares premises with the Tunturi Market grocery shop and keeps board games in the corner, and Bistoria at number 4, the restaurant attached to KIDE Hotel, with wine by the glass from EUR 8.80. TunturiPUB stands a few dozen metres from the hotel, so those two are a short walk apart. Pärjä Ski Bistro is over on the back slopes at Takarinteentie 4, right next to the lifts, with a terrace that catches the spring evening sun. Ravintola Hilltop is higher again: 200 seats on the top floor of the Hilltop Hotel at the summit, the same room running as Cafe Hilltop from 10:30 to 18:00. Restaurant Kotva is on another fell, on top of Pikku-Syöte at Syötekeskuksentie 126, with three courses at EUR 59.
One of the five depends on the season. Restaurant Kotva serves dinner on Fridays and Saturdays only, in the autumn ruska season it announces, and the dates on its own page do not add up, so confirm them before you travel; at Ravintola Hilltop it is the menu rather than the venue that varies: its own site warns the a la carte can be limited outside winter and may depend on booking ahead.
TunturiPUB is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the kitchen stops at 21:30 from Wednesday to Saturday even though the bar itself runs to midnight midweek and to 03:00 on Friday and Saturday. Pärjä Ski Bistro publishes its hours on Facebook only, not on its website.
Only TunturiPUB and Bistoria are neighbours: both are on Romekievarintie by KIDE Hotel, a few dozen metres apart. Ravintola Hilltop is at the summit of Iso-Syöte on Isosyötteentie and Restaurant Kotva on top of Pikku-Syöte, so each of those is its own trip up a fell rather than a walk from the slope base.
