Ylläs has two bar villages and the address tells you which side you are on. In Äkäslompolo, Selvä Pyy at Tunturintie 16 is the pub locals and skiers use, Joiku Pub on Jakolantie has the village's largest sun terrace and a karaoke floor, and Los Lompolos on Sivulantie is the small cocktail room in the centre. Three venues share one address at Äkäsentie 10: Ravintola Pirtukirkko, the Takka bar beside it and Pirtukellari Night Club downstairs. Y1 Ski Pub at Tunturintie 56 is on the same side, near the base of the Aurinko-Express chairlift at Aurinkokuru. In Ylläsjärvi, Ski pub Ala-Asema and Bistro Hissi both sit at Iso-Ylläksentie 44, next to the gondola's lower station and the Ylläs Express chairlift, with the Bistro at Lapland Hotels Saaga at number 42. Bar Kaappi and Taiga Ylläs share Vaeltajantie 2 at the foot of the Ylläs Ski South slope, and Miilu Bar & Grill stands on the shore of Lake Ylläsjärvi as part of Miilu Resort.
The bars split between two villages: Äkäslompolo, postcode 95970, and Ylläsjärvi, postcode 95980. Miilu Bar & Grill is out on the shore of Lake Ylläsjärvi at Rantasaarentie 3-5, and its listing names car, foot, skis, bike and snowmobile as ways to get there.
Two places run on the lift timetable: Aurinkoravintola on the Aurinko slope is open during the ski season according to the lift timetables, and Bistro Hissi is open when the lifts are running. Pirtukellari Night Club opens in ski season on Friday and Saturday nights, and Y1 Ski Pub at Aurinkokuru opens in November 2026.
Restaurant services at Lapland Hotels Äkäshotelli, which cover Ravintola Pirtukirkko and the Takka bar, are closed from 27 September to 20 November 2026. At Lapland Hotels Saaga the hotel's own pages disagree: the Bistro's hours are marked until 26 September, while the seasonal notice says the restaurants are closed from 24 September to 14 November. Cafe & Bar Routa in Äkäslompolo is open all year but closes at 17, so it is a daytime stop rather than an evening one.
