Where to drink in Ruka: karaoke and live music on Rukankyläntie, a slope bar reached only on skis and a hotel restaurant bar out on the lake shore.
Six of these venues stand on one street, Rukankyläntie, and one more has no road to it at all.
Ruka’s bar street is Rukankyläntie, in Kuusamo, and six venues carry its address. Restaurant Colorado sits at number 6 in the walking centre with billiards and a sun terrace, Hanki Baari at 11 pours local beers and books live artists and DJs through the winter, Ravintola Zone at 13 says it hosts over 100 live nights a year and keeps the grill on until 04, and Scandic Rukahovi at 15 holds two rooms: the Lobby Bar and Bar Ihku, the karaoke bar and night club. Rinneravintola Piste stands at number 17, at the foot of the front slopes. Vuosseli is the other named part of Ruka, and three venues place themselves in it: Ski Booster on Ahon Jussintie, CAMP Kitchen & Bar on Bistrotie and Rukan Olkkari on Jussinkuja. Four sit outside both: Rukatonttu, 650 metres from the village centre on Lake Talvijärvi; Monomesta, a terrace below the Pessari slopes with no road to it; Rukan Salonki Ice Bar on Salongintie; and Rukan keilahalli on Rukatunturintie.
Monomesta has no road access: you reach the terrace at the foot of the Pessari slopes on skis with a valid lift ticket, the day shows are free and the serving area is 18+. Rukan Salonki Ice Bar is out at the chalets by the lake on Salongintie, not in the village.
Some nights are ticketed. Bar Ihku takes door tickets from 8 euros and 10–25 euros on artist nights, Hanki Baari’s gigs usually run 10–15 euros, and live music at Restaurant Colorado is free to enter.
Ski Booster and Rukan keilahalli are both closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the bowling hall on Sundays as well; Rukatonttu serves Tuesday to Saturday 17–21. CAMP Kitchen & Bar is shut from 19 October to 17 November 2026 for a kitchen renovation and reopens daily 11–21 on 19 November.
